Summary

Life and a dismal last name are the only two things Beyah Grim's parents ever gave her。 After carving her path all on her own, Beyah is well on her way to bigger and better things, thanks to no one but herself。

With only two short months separating her from the future she's built and the past she desperately wants to leave behind, an unexpected death leaves Beyah with no place to go during the interim。 Forced to reach out to her last resort, Beyah has to spend the remainder of her summer on a peninsula in Texas with a father she barely knows。 Beyah's plan is to keep her head down and let the summer slip by seamlessly, but her new neighbor Samson throws a wrench in that plan。

Samson and Beyah have nothing in common on the surface。

She comes from a life of poverty and neglect; he comes from a family of wealth and privilege。 But one thing they do have in common is that they're both drawn to sad things。 Which means they're drawn to each other。 With an almost immediate connection too intense for them to continue denying, Beyah and Samson agree to stay in the shallow end of a summer fling。 What Beyah doesn't realize is that a rip current is coming, and it's about to drag her heart out to sea。

I enjoyed this and that it was set on a beach in summer made it a good summer read。 For some reason I had some trouble getting into the beginning。 I usually devour CoHo books but this one I read in tiny bits here and there。

just a good feel romance :,) a little cliche at times but it made me want to move to the beach asap and find a sweet beach boy

Loved it! Another page turner from C Hoover that went straight to my heart。 I have to admit it, I am a sucker for romance and in her books there is always some (more)。 It's great for a weekend read or for a holiday at the beach, it makes you leave everything else aside and focus on the plot。 Loved it! This was the perfect summer book。 It brought me back to the feelings I would get while reading Sarah deaden when I was younger。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I really enjoyed the first half of the book but once Samson was arrested the ending became really predictable。

I don't know why after reading a fair share of Colleen Hoover's work, I am still surprised by it every single time。A beautiful book which managed to make me think that my own heart grew bones and felt it all。It's the type of book you read in a setting and thus you don't really have the time to try to figure out Samson's secret。 Personally, I didn't know what to expect, but certainly not that。I loved the ending and Beyah's growth throughout the novel is beyond inspiring。 It goes to prove that if I don't know why after reading a fair share of Colleen Hoover's work, I am still surprised by it every single time。A beautiful book which managed to make me think that my own heart grew bones and felt it all。It's the type of book you read in a setting and thus you don't really have the time to try to figure out Samson's secret。 Personally, I didn't know what to expect, but certainly not that。I loved the ending and Beyah's growth throughout the novel is beyond inspiring。 It goes to prove that if you truly want to, you can get up even if life throws the worst it has。5⭐ 。。。more

3 — i liked the beginning of the book a lot。 i anticipated beyah’s new life and the new connections she was going to make。 i also looked forward to her character development。 i enjoyed the setting of the story and the book was easy to get through。however, this book could have been so much better if the ending wasn’t so rushed。 i feel like i had 0 connections to the characters & found myself not caring much about the story。

Another masterpiece Colleen H has done it again。 This book was amazing。 The story was very relatable。 Samson and Beyah are one of the strongest characters I have met。 I was so happy reading the end of this book。 I was cheering for these two characters throughout the story because they deserve it。 Samson, you are special。

This book made me CRY! It was so good。🥺 Beyah and Samson’s story was too much for me to handle。 It was so heartbreaking and felt so real。 It’s been a while since I connected to characters like I connected to these ones。 I loved this book so much。 I thought it would be a light read until I was sobbing through it hahaha。

Wanted to live this one, but didn't。 The usual connection between characters was not believable in this one and for once, I didn't want the characters to end up together。 Wanted to live this one, but didn't。 The usual connection between characters was not believable in this one and for once, I didn't want the characters to end up together。 。。。more

I put this on currently reading couple of days ago, but I actually started it yesterday and finished it in a day。 There's nothing for me to say。 Colleen Hoover is one of the best writers right now and nobody can change my mind。 I recommend this book with my almost broken heart bone! I never get enough of this woman’s books。 Like, I just want her to keep writing because I become SO invested in the characters。 I will admit I usually have a hard time with the first chapter of her books but after that I can’t stop and this was no exception。 This is an official request to have a book about what comes next in this series!

My heart broke for both Beyah & Samson…。。Colleen does not disappoint

well it has been a while since I read a new book ,cause I always end up rereading books that I already read in the past that I know won't end me up in a complete mess。 That is exactly what this book did to me。i can't even remember the times I cried my eyes out whilst I was reading。I forgot how CH s books affect me,they hit so close to home, and god her writing。。。it's perfect。i have this theory in my head that authors have to be called as genius not scientists。。how much they can influence ones lif well it has been a while since I read a new book ,cause I always end up rereading books that I already read in the past that I know won't end me up in a complete mess。 That is exactly what this book did to me。i can't even remember the times I cried my eyes out whilst I was reading。I forgot how CH s books affect me,they hit so close to home, and god her writing。。。it's perfect。i have this theory in my head that authors have to be called as genius not scientists。。how much they can influence ones life by truly getting inside it。。。this just deepens the respect I have for them。well let's talk about the book, first both of them being kinda INFJ's it hits me personally。and since I listen to the audiobook it was fine but the main characters names came really hard for me to pronounce, but I guess thats CH s way of sticking us with the characters as long as it can。and the ending ,it was really unpredictable。。I never saw that comming。。the morning Simson got arrested。。that came out of blue。idk why but I can totally understand why Beayah did what she did。。I was on her shoe the whole time。well that's it for now, but I can totally see this book will be one of the books that I will come back for when I need someone like me to hang out with。 。。。more

My heart grew bones tooI haven’t been reading lately, I just kind of got into a funk and it was almost like I broke up with books。 After reading this it’s safe to say that we are back in a committed relationship。 I don’t know how Colleen can always make me feel so many emotions while I read her books, to the point where I’m almost exhausted when I’m finished even if I was sitting on the couch the whole time。 Anyway, read this entirely in less than 24 hour。 I was hooked from the get go。 I think m My heart grew bones tooI haven’t been reading lately, I just kind of got into a funk and it was almost like I broke up with books。 After reading this it’s safe to say that we are back in a committed relationship。 I don’t know how Colleen can always make me feel so many emotions while I read her books, to the point where I’m almost exhausted when I’m finished even if I was sitting on the couch the whole time。 Anyway, read this entirely in less than 24 hour。 I was hooked from the get go。 I think my daughter said it best, usually you fall for one character in every book but in Heart Bones I fell for two。 I would love to get a second book several years from now to check in on the story。 Hint hint Colleen。 10/10 would recommend :) 。。。more

I read this last night and I really had fun。 It fed my hopeless romantic ass so well lol。 I squealed so much。 The first few pages were not really that interesting/too slow for me。 But I glad it picked up the pace。 Some social issues were subtly present and talked about also。 The tiny weenieee element of poetry was also a plus points。 It's a good read。 I read this last night and I really had fun。 It fed my hopeless romantic ass so well lol。 I squealed so much。 The first few pages were not really that interesting/too slow for me。 But I glad it picked up the pace。 Some social issues were subtly present and talked about also。 The tiny weenieee element of poetry was also a plus points。 It's a good read。 。。。more

Heart Bones was one I wasn’t sure what to think before starting it。 For some reason, I had a different vibe from it than others – possibly because I couldn’t figure out what the title truly meant in regards to the story it might carry。But then I read it。 And what I read was both heartbreaking, inspiring, and enlightening。This country treats wealth as though it’s the norm。 As though being rich and having everything at your fingertips is the expected lifestyle。 So when you don’t have that – in fac Heart Bones was one I wasn’t sure what to think before starting it。 For some reason, I had a different vibe from it than others – possibly because I couldn’t figure out what the title truly meant in regards to the story it might carry。But then I read it。 And what I read was both heartbreaking, inspiring, and enlightening。This country treats wealth as though it’s the norm。 As though being rich and having everything at your fingertips is the expected lifestyle。 So when you don’t have that – in fact when you have so much less than that, you feel as though you have to pretend。 As though you don’t fit in。 As though you’re not good enough to live life because you haven’t been given everything life has to offer。This book also shows readers how people assume the worst of people put in harsh situations。 We don’t naturally give people multiple chances, hear them out, or give them the benefit of the doubt。 But we should。Colleen Hoover, thank you for this book。 Thank you for calling light to life in poverty。 Thank you for giving readers a wake up call in the form of a riveting read that managed to surprise me despite all of the clues being right in front of my face。 Just, thank you。If you haven’t read this one yet, please do。 If you haven’t jumped on the CoHo train, please do。 。。。more

*4。5/5*My first Colleen Hoover book and i can confidently say that she lives up to the hype。 OMG this goddamn book!!!
